Location: Bournemouth & Poole

Pay rate: £13.70 per hour + £2.00 per hour Bank Holiday enhancement rate

Travel: Paid Travel Time £12.71 per hour + 40p per mile mileage allowance

Hours: Full-time, including alternate weekends (days off to include every Thursday and every other weekend)

Shift Pattern: 07:00 to 14:00 & 16:00 to 22:00

This is a varied role and will include supporting and supervising our Home Care Assistants, completing client assessments, writing care plans, and helping to ensure the smooth running of the service.

For this role, a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are essential.

Our Senior Home Care Assistants are placed on an excellent induction programme and receive our ongoing commitment to their training and development.

Key duties for a Senior Home Care Assistant include (but may not be limited to):

  • To attend daily meetings with the discharge team and multiple external agencies
  • To accept new care packages (referrals) directly from the hospital once a patient has been assessed as medically safe to leave hospital
  • To add referrals to Care South systems and coordinate care visits
  • To keep spreadsheets up to date and send daily and weekly reports
  • To support our Home Care Assistants
  • To work with the wider team to ensure continuity of approach, maintaining clear communication
  • To cover care calls when they are not allocated

Training we will provide the Senior Home Care Assistant:

Full assessor and care planning training will be provided, enabling the Senior Home Care Assistant to create and deliver person-centred care plans focused on achieving measurable outcomes and goals.

About our Senior Home Care Assistants:

  • Holder of an NVQ or Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards)
  • Strong IT skills, ability to multitask and work to internal objectives
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Holder of an enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake one
