Grade A - £55,172 (National) or £61,028 (London - for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home. Please note for part time roles – this will be pro rata.

As a Subject Matter Expert – Primary Care and Community Services, you’ll help shape the future of regulation by ensuring the needs of primary care and community services are reflected in the systems, processes and approaches that support high-quality care for people across England.
You’ll play a key role in one of CQC’s most important transformation programmes, helping to ensure the knowledge and experience of Primary Care and Community Services teams influence how future regulatory services are designed. Working alongside colleagues across inspection, digital and programme teams, you’ll help turn insight into practical improvements that make a lasting difference.
Picture this In the last 12 months, as a Subject Matter Expert – Primary Care and Community Services you could have:
- Gathered insight and prioritised requirements from Primary Care and Community Services inspectorate colleagues, working closely with digital teams to help shape future services, business processes and technology solutions as part of Rebuilding our Regulatory Services.
- Supported testing, piloting and implementation activities, helping to ensure new assessment services met the needs of colleagues and the services they regulate before being rolled out across CQC.
The role You’ll work closely with others to deliver shared outcomes. In this role, you’ll:
- Represent sector expertise: Work with Primary Care and Community Services colleagues to identify requirements, share operational insight and ensure sector priorities are reflected in service design, guidance and system development.
- Support change and improvement: Help develop guidance, training and implementation plans that enable colleagues to adopt new ways of working and embed improvements across regulatory services.
- Build collaboration and assurance: Work with programme teams, stakeholders and other subject matter experts to provide assurance, promote consistency across workstreams and champion the benefits of new services and processes.
Show us We will be looking for specific skills, knowledge and experience in your application form:
- Experience working within primary care, community services, regulation or a related environment, with a strong understanding of operational delivery and sector priorities.
- Experience contributing to service improvement or transformation programmes, including gathering requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of new processes, systems or ways of working.
- Experience working with a range of stakeholders to influence decisions, manage complex discussions and translate policy, operational requirements or technical information into practical guidance and solutions.
