The predicted salary is between 55172 - 61028 £ per year.
Grade A – £55,172 (National) or £61,028 (London) + £2,500 Recruitment and Retention allowance annually. £600 homeworking allowance for full‑time homeworkers. Contract: Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week). Flexible location – home‑based or office (London or Leeds). Hybrid working with 2 days per week at home. Closing date: 16 June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Lead legal work on complex investigations, supporting criminal prosecutions and inquest cases related to health and care services.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice and lead litigation including prosecutions and inquests to support CQC’s regulatory enforcement work.
- Line‑manage and support a legal team, coach colleagues, and develop the team to deliver high‑quality, consistent legal advice.
- Build strong relationships across CQC, informing senior stakeholders of legal risks and suitable approaches.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive in England and Wales with at least 5 years’ experience managing caseloads and advising on complex legal matters.
- Experience in advocacy and litigation in criminal courts, coronial settings or regulatory enforcement.
- Leadership experience supporting colleagues in investigations, prosecutions or public law.
