Grade B – £42,044 (National). Additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. Pro‑rata for part‑time roles. Contracted Hours: Full‑time 37 hours per week; part‑time as specified. Contract Type: Permanent and Fixed Term/Secondment.

The role You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work by monitoring the use of the Mental Health Act and contributing MHA expertise to the inspection programme. Work closely with regional colleagues to monitor the use of the MHA and highlight the experiences of people detained under the MHA. Contribute MHA expertise to CQC’s inspection programme.

Picture this As a Mental Health Act Reviewer you’re likely to have carried out the following:

  • Developed and delivered an individual MHA monitoring plan detailing activities, timelines and priorities, involving mental health trusts and independent mental health providers.
  • Managed a portfolio of providers, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
  • Carried out weekly solo monitoring visits to mental health wards.
  • Followed up each monitoring visit with a comprehensive report to the provider, including required actions, and monitored provider replies and actions taken.

Show us In‑depth knowledge and working understanding of the MHA and the MHA Code of Practice. Experience working in or with inpatient mental health services. Passion and commitment to improve the experience of detained patients.

Other requirements You must provide evidence of your right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Some roles may also be subject to a DBS check.
