Grade A - £55,172-£68,348 (National) or £61,028-£74,204 (London) – Additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home.

As a Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in ensuring strong financial governance and supporting CQC to deliver safe, effective care for people across England.

You might get the chance to work on:
- Leading the preparation and submission of CQC’s Annual Report and Accounts, including working with auditors and supporting the process of laying accounts before Parliament.
- Improving how CQC manages and reports on different funding streams, helping the organisation meet public finance rules and strengthen long‑term financial planning.
The role:
- Strengthen financial control: Maintain and improve financial processes, systems and policies to ensure compliance with standards, audits and public finance rules.
- Lead financial accounting services: Oversee core accounting functions such as statutory reporting, treasury activity, income forecasting and balance sheet management.
- Support people and performance: Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team, setting clear goals, supporting learning, and ensuring delivery against agreed plans.

- Leading finance operations: Experience managing end‑to‑end financial accounting activities, using finance systems to deliver accurate reporting and meet deadlines.
