Salary and Hours Grade B – £42,044 (National) or £47,900 (London) – includes a £600 per annum homeworking allowance for those working from home. The pay is pro‑rata for part‑time roles. Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week, with compressed hours available if requested. Contract Type: Permanent.

Locations Accepted: Derby City and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, Nottingham City, Staffordshire and Stoke, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Essex, Northamptonshire.

Job Overview: As an Adult Social Care Inspector, you’ll help ensure people receive safe, kind and high‑quality care every day. You will conduct inspections, gather evidence, and help drive real, positive change in social care services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead inspection activity, understand how well a service supports people, use evidence and insight to guide decisions.
  • Respond to new risks, working with teams to protect people when safety concerns arise.
  • Assess services: carry out on‑site inspections and off‑site assessments, review information from users, staff, partners and data to build a clear picture of quality and safety.
  • Lead and collaborate with inspection teams, partners and service users to gather insight, share learning and support improvements.
  • Analyse evidence, use digital systems, write clear reports that help others understand how well services are performing.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience working in adult social care, the NHS, a regulatory setting or other environments where you supported quality, safety or wellbeing.
  • Experience analysing information to guide decisions, recognising risk and using data to shape actions.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders, building relationships and sharing feedback sensitively.
