Grade A - £55,172 (National) or £61,028 (London - for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. Please note for part time roles – this will be pro rata.

Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Homebased, however, you will be required to travel across the country to support onsite work and overnight stays for up to a week at a time where needed. It is expected that this will be at least 4 times per year.

We have completed our programme of carrying out baseline assessments of all local authorities in England and are building on our existing team to now move forward to carrying out ongoing monitoring and assessment of local authorities with regard to the carrying out of their responsibilities under Part 1 of the Care Act 2014.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you'll work closely with colleagues in the local authority assessment team, the policy team, data and insight team, subject matter experts and experts by experience. You will manage and lead a team to carry out on-site and offsite work and engage with professionals within the local authority, using the framework for assessment and the quality statements. The role: You’ll play an important part in delivering our mission. In this role, you’ll:

• Lead and support Inspectors you line manage, providing guidance and development to help them succeed.
• Drive Operational Delivery: Carrying out end-to-end assessment activity, ensuring risks are managed and escalated appropriately, providing leadership to the assessment team to ensure effective outcomes are met.
• Lead in the context of a matrix management style of working.
• Collaborate for impact: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to solve problems, share insights, and improve outcomes.

• Ability to be the independent, credible voice for adult social care: Demonstrating your motivation and commitment to the role and the work of the Local Authority Assessment Team.
• Experience leading operational delivery: Demonstrate how you’ve managed complex programmes or services through others.
• Ability to use data for decision-making: Show examples of using insight and analysis to improve quality or manage risk.
• Stakeholder engagement expertise: Evidence of working collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve shared goals.
