HTA Finance Officer – Human Tissue Authority
Grade/Salary: Band 2 – Officer £18,000 per annum
Contracted Hours: Part Time, 0.6 FTE, equivalent of 3 days

The Human Tissue Authority\’s (HTA\’s) primary goal is to protect public and professional confidence in the safe and ethical use of human tissue.
We are the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and public display. We also approve organ and bone marrow donations from living people. With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the centre of our work, we aim to maintain confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, with proper consent.

A unique opportunity has become available for a Finance Officer to join our team until the end of June 2026.
The Finance Officer at HTA provides a key services to support the organisations finance function. You will be hard working and have good attention to detail and be able to work well as part of a high performing team.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the post holder will accurately record and process of all purchase ledger invoices and employee expenses.
The variety of task undertaken within the role will include, however not limited to; preparing all purchase ledger items for payment on a weekly basis, reconciling all purchase ledger accounts and dealing with queries and managing all purchase ledger purchase orders, matching to invoices and investigating all discrepancies and dealing with queries.
What you will bring…
You will be experienced in MS Excel, have an interest in finance transactional work and have the confidence to work independently to complete tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.
You will have knowledge and experience of using accountancy software.(MS Great Plains would be desirable and advantageous)
You will have excellent communications skills and be comfortable dealing with debtor management tasks.

Essential Criteria:
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of accountancy software (MS Great Plains) an advantage
- Previous experience in purchase ledger work and/or transactional finance work is essential.
- Able to deliver and complete task within deadlines and to a high standard.
- An ability to work as part of small team and experience of working within a team environment.
- Flexibility and a willingness to assist with a variety tasks.
