The Volunteer Placement Officer is a corporate role within the organisation's central volunteering function, providing operational, administrative and coordination support for volunteering, volunteer placements and work experience activity across the organisation. The postholder will support safe, effective and consistent volunteering and work experience processes across multiple services, including recruitment, onboarding, placement, induction, compliance monitoring and engagement, in line with organisational policy, CQC standards, safeguarding requirements and best practice. The role will also support accessible pathways that complement Employability Services and contribute to Care Plus Group's Grow Our Own at Place model, acting as a central point of contact for volunteers, work experience participants and managers.
Main duties of the job
- Based at Westgate Park, Grimsby
- 30 hours a week, fixed term for 18 months
- Range 4 £26,416 - £28,182 pro rata per annum. You will be appointed on a fixed salary point.
The Volunteering and Work Experience Support Officer provides:
- Operational, administrative and coordination support to Care Plus Group's volunteering programme and work experience opportunities, including placements with schools, colleges and other education providers.
- Supports the recruitment, onboarding, placement, monitoring and ongoing support of volunteers and students in line with organisational policies, safeguarding requirements and governance standards, acting as a key contact for volunteers, students, managers, supervisors and partner organisations.
- Maintain accurate records, support compliance, and contribute to engagement, through marketing initiatives, recognition and recruitment activity.

Experience
- Experience of administration and coordination within a busy service or team environment
- Experience in maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets and databases, and supporting departments to do so
- Experience of communicating effectively with colleagues, volunteers, students, managers and external partners
- Experience in organising meetings, events, or activities, and managing competing priorities
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of supporting people facing barriers to work or social inclusion
- Experience in supporting volunteers, work experience students, community programmes or employability initiatives
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding or compliance-based processes
- Experience in liaising with education providers (e.g. schools/colleges) regarding placements
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification (A-level/NVQ3/BTEC), e.g. Health and Social Care, Business Administration, Community Development/Community Work or equivalent operational experience of the health, care, community, volunteering, employability or work experience settings
- Maths and English at minimum level 2
- Level 4 qualification in business administration, employability, community development, volunteering or related field
- Additional training relevant to volunteering, work experience coordination, safeguarding or supporting people in community-based settings
- Evidence of continual professional development
Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and the importance of accurate record keeping
- Effective organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
