Main duties of the job

  • Base: Community Inpatient Unit
  • Hours: 36 a week, permanent
  • Rota pattern: You will be required to work a rota pattern.
  • Salary: £24,853 pro rata per annum.

We are seeking highly motivated and passionate recovery workers to join the MDT team at the Community inpatient unit. As a recovery worker you will support patients with personal and nutritional care needs, working with nurses and therapists to deliver enhanced care and support individuals to regain independence through motivational and encouragement techniques. You will work under the direction of the HCA/Assistant Practitioner and Nursing team and will follow protocols, guidance, and procedures under the direction of senior staff, manager, or supervisor. You will have NVQ/QCF Level 2 and/or previous experience in the caring sector.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with people who have a wide range of healthcare needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to deal effectively with confrontational situations.
  • Knowledge of SystmOne clinical system.
  • Knowledge of community nursing and primary care.
  • Range of clinical skills: wound care, eye care, pressure area care, venepuncture, bowel/bladder care, blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar monitoring.

Experience

  • Experience of working with patients/service users.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in using SystemOne.

Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in health or social care or equivalent qualification.
  • Level 2 Literacy, numeracy, and IT or equivalent level of competence.
