The aims of the Transport Service are to provide safe, accessible and efficient transport means to vulnerable people in order that they can participate in the services offered by Day Opportunities for vulnerable people throughout North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
Main duties of the job:
- Team: Transport
- Base: Cromwell Road Resource Centre / Vehicles located at Westgate Park, Grimsby
- 30 Hours a week, permanent
- Hours are 7.30 to 10.30 am and 2.00 to 5.00 pm (1.00 to 4.00 pm on a Friday)
- £24,735 (21 and over); £22,627 (under 21) pro rata per annum, fixed salary point.
You will be responsible for the safe transportation of service users to and from their homes to designated day centres and venues within the area, providing assistance, supervision and support. You will maintain appropriate records in connection with the use of vehicles and will be responsible for vehicle and safety checks.
You must hold D1 driving licence or PSV, have experience of working with vulnerable adults with a range of needs and have recent experience of driving in the local area. You must have knowledge of and the ability to carry out vehicle checks and be able to complete associated documents. Effective communication and customer care skills are essential.

Qualifications:
- D1 driving entitlement
- P.C.V driving licence with manual transmission entitlement
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Literacy and numeracy level 2 qualification
- Moving and Handling Certificate or willingness to undertake and complete
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake and complete
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to drive safely and within road traffic legislation requirements
- Good geographical knowledge of local area of responsibility
