Community Inpatient Unit provides rehabilitation, re-ablement and recovery interventions for adults in North East Lincolnshire. The service promotes faster recovery from illness, prevents unnecessary acute hospital admissions and premature admissions to long-term care, supports timely discharge from hospital and maximises independent living wherever possible. Multi-professional staff collaborate with individuals to ensure they achieve their full potential in terms of their level of independence, health, and wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

  • Base: Community Inpatient Unit
  • Salary Range: £22,627 (under 21) - £24,735 (21 and over)
  • Work independently to provide nutritional, palatable and well-balanced meals following an agreed menu ensuring Food Hygiene and Infection Control regulations are adhered to.
  • Provide supervision and direction to catering assistants in the safe running of the kitchen during each shift.
  • Duties include planning of menus to make choices available, taking into account any special dietary requirements; ordering and safe storage of stock and stock rotation.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all utensils, equipment, work surfaces and kitchen areas at all times in compliance with the Safer Food Better Business Food Management System.
  • Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate and a Level 2 Production Chef / equivalent or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of providing catering services in a similar setting and of menu planning and portion control.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a rota including working weekends and bank holidays.
