The aims of the Transport Service are to provide safe, accessible and efficient transport means to vulnerable people in order that they can participate in the services offered by Day Opportunities for vulnerable people throughout North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding area.
Main duties of the job
- Team: Transport
- Base: Cromwell Road Resource Centre / Vehicles located at Doughty Road Depot, Grimsby
- Bank hours as and when required - hours that may need covering are 7.30 to 10.30 am and 2.00 to 5.00 pm (1.00 to 4.00 pm on a Friday)
- £24,735 (21 and over); £22,627 (under 21) pro rata per annum you will be appointed on a fixed salary point.
You will be responsible for the safe transportation of service users to and from their homes, to any venue within the area, providing assistance, supervision and support, ensuring all Health and Safety regulations and Road Traffic legislation are adhered to in relation to transportation and vehicle safety.
You must hold D1 driving licence or PSV, have experience of working with vulnerable adults with a range of needs and have recent experience of driving in the local area. You must have knowledge of and the ability to carry out vehicle checks and be able to complete associated documents. Effective communication and customer care skills are essential.
