Primary Function
Responsible for receiving patients and processing patient records for the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Responsibilities
- Greets patients and places orders for testing into the computer system if necessary.
- Transports patients to dressing area if needed and contacts appropriate departments when patient has arrived.
- Coordinates patient arrival for diagnostic imaging, special procedures, cardiac cath, and technical services.
- Uploads/downloads imaging CDs at requests and works with HIS to ensure patient results are distributed appropriately.
- Distributes reports to physician offices and other medical facilities upon request and in the manner requested (fax, mail, courier).
- Coordinates prior reports/images as required (films, files, CD, reports).
- Coordinates follow-up appointments or verbal orders from physician offices.
- Prints and reviews daily schedules for patient testing.
- Stocks and organizes dressing rooms for patients.
- Assists technologist with patient movement when required.
- Coordinates appropriate paperwork for Radiologists on off hours for other XRA sites to be read.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
A High School diploma required. Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting preferred.
