We are seeking an experienced and proactive Community Development Manager to lead the development of new and emerging projects across Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. This role is key to delivering our five-year strategy, managing our volunteer offer, and securing sustainable funding for services. You will oversee a small team, build strong partnerships with stakeholders, and ensure projects deliver measurable impact for local communities. This is a one-year fixed-term contract at 25 hours per week initially.
Care Network Cambridgeshire supports older, isolated, and vulnerable individuals in the region, helping them remain independent and socially connected. The organisation empowers volunteers to assist local residents in leading fulfilling and healthy lives. Offering services such as Help at Home and Wellbeing, Care Network provides practical and emotional support during times of need, including hospital discharge and challenging life events. The Community Development team works closely with local communities to identify service gaps and develop initiatives that address the needs of residents. Care Network is dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive community for everyone.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in our Hardwick or Chatteris office, with flexibility for some work from home. As a Community Development Manager, your responsibilities will include collaborating with local communities to design and implement sustainable initiatives for support networks and services. You will focus on engaging with community members, managing volunteers, and facilitating projects that address gaps in local resources. Additionally, you will build partnerships with relevant organisations, assess the impact of programs, and drive community growth through strategic planning and development.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong skills in Community Engagement, with experience building connections and working collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Proficiency in Community Development and Volunteer Management, with the ability to motivate and support volunteers effectively.
- Experience in Communication, with a proven ability to convey information clearly and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Understanding of and experience in Economic Development, with the capability to identify and address service gaps in the community.
- Strong organisational and project management skills to develop and implement community initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment.
- Experience working in the non-profit or community sector is highly desirable.
