Join the campaign for a gender equal Parliament. Centenary Action is a cross-party campaign working to achieve a gender equal Parliament and create lasting change in women’s political representation. We bring together organisations, campaigners and supporters to advocate for a fairer, more representative democracy.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Campaign Assistant to support the delivery of our campaigning, communications, stakeholder engagement and member activities. Working closely with the Campaign Manager, Steering Group and external partners, you will play a key role in ensuring our campaigns, events and communications run smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop experience across campaigning, public affairs, communications and the voluntary sector.

About the role

The Campaign Assistant will provide administrative, communications and operational support across Centenary Action’s work, including:

  • Supporting campaign planning, project coordination and tracking activity and outcomes.
  • Helping organise meetings, events and member activities, including logistics, registrations and communications.
  • Drafting and scheduling social media content, supporting newsletters and assisting with website updates.
  • Maintaining stakeholder and member records and supporting engagement with partners and supporters.
  • Providing administrative support to the Steering Group and committees, including meeting preparation and record keeping.
  • Supporting general organisational administration and the smooth running of campaign activities.
About you

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, reliable and enjoys making things happen. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, working independently and supporting a small, dynamic organisation.

You will have:

  • Experience in administration, communications, events or project support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Confidence using digital tools, including Microsoft Office and online collaboration platforms.
  • Experience creating digital content and using social media.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing campaign needs.
  • A commitment to advancing women’s equality and a strong interest in politics.
  • Experience of working in campaigning, public affairs, politics, membership organisations or the voluntary sector would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Working arrangements

This is a remote, home-based freelance role with occasional attendance at meetings and events mostly in London. The role is expected to involve approximately 8 days per calendar month (maximum 48 days) over an initial six-month contract. The pattern of work will vary depending on campaign activity, events and organisational priorities, so we are looking for someone who can work flexibly and manage their time effectively around key milestones.

Why work with Centenary Action?

This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact campaign for a more representative democracy and gain hands-on experience across campaigning, communications, events and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with a committed team of campaigners and partners, helping to build momentum towards a gender equal Parliament.

A short covering statement (no more than two pages) explaining why you're interested in the role and how your experience meets the person specification.

Deadline: September 1st. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation.
