Supply Desk are seeking a professional, passionate, and dedicated Cover Teacher to join welcoming and inclusive secondary schools in the Watford area, starting this September. This full-time role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working across Key Stages 3 and 4 and is confident delivering lessons across a range of secondary subjects. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment while ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behaviour, monitoring student engagement and supporting students with their learning. The role also offers opportunities to become involved in extra-curricular activities and wider school initiatives, helping to enrich the educational experience for all students. This is an excellent opportunity to work within supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools where staff wellbeing and professional development are valued.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Maintain a positive, safe and well-managed classroom environment
- Monitor and support students' engagement, behaviour and progress
- Follow lesson plans and school policies to ensure continuity of learning
- Liaise with teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour and any relevant concerns
- Contribution to extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs
- Cooperation with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible outcomes
Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
- Secondary classroom experience
- Passion for the development of learning
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Adaptability and confidence working across different year groups and subjects
- Inclusive ethics
- Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding
