Salary: Β£460 - Β£650 per week (depending on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Long-term / Temporary, Full-time / Part-time

Are you confident working with primary-aged children and enjoy creating a positive, focused classroom? A welcoming primary school in Sheffield is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and keep learning on track from September.

About the Role:

  • Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared learning activities when the regular teacher is unavailable.
  • Follow lesson plans, support pupils with their work and maintain a calm, well-organised classroom throughout the school day.
  • This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an active part in their learning while gaining valuable experience within a primary school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise primary classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and learning activities as instructed.
  • Support pupils with their work and encourage positive participation.
  • Maintain a safe, calm and well-structured classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour consistently in line with school policies.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.
  • Confident communication and classroom management skills.
  • A patient, approachable and consistent manner.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
  • Good organisational skills and reliability.
  • A genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development.
  • Experience within a primary school or education setting is advantageous.

To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor (Primary), you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
