A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Salford is seeking to appoint a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join their pastoral team from September 2026. This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and overall development.
- Provide pastoral support to students to promote positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads, and teaching staff
- Support students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and student wellbeing
Person Specification:
- Experience working with young people is highly desirable, particularly in a school or similar setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations
- A proactive and supportive approach to student wellbeing
- A genuine commitment to supporting young people to succeed
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
