Care Assistant - Residential Care Home
Location: Paignton area, Devon
Salary: £13.50 per hour
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shifts: Days & Nights
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established medium-sized residential care home in the Torquay area, supporting up to 41 working-age adults with a range of individual and complex care needs.
We currently have three Care Assistant vacancies available across both day and night shifts.
About the Role
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to residents, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
The home supports working-age adults with a range of needs, including:
- Physical disabilities
- Neurological conditions
- Learning disabilities
- Mental health needs
- Complex care requirements
You will be expected to take the time to understand each resident as an individual and provide compassionate, respectful and consistent support.
Hours & Pay
36 hours per week
Day shifts: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Night shifts: 8:00pm - 8:00am
£13.50 per hour
All breaks are paid
Bank Holidays: Time & ¼
Boxing Day & New Year's Day: Time & ½
Christmas Day: Double time

About You
Relevant care qualifications are preferred but are not essential. Above all, we are looking for compassionate, reliable and person-centred individuals who genuinely want to make a difference to the people they support.
You will ideally have:
- A compassionate and person-centred approach
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Patience and understanding
- Previous experience supporting adults with complex needs would be beneficial
The home has a strong staffing structure, with typically six to seven Care Assistants working during the day and four at night, providing residents with consistent support from a dedicated team.
