The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced

Project Manager to join a growing team delivering high-specification laboratory, pharmaceutical and technical fit-out/refurbishment projects across Oxfordshire and the wider region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a background working for a leading fit-out, interiors or specialist construction contractor, who understands the unique challenges of live environments, laboratory spaces, cleanrooms, pharmaceutical facilities and technically demanding refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory, pharmaceutical and technical fit-out/refurbishment projects from inception to handover.
  • Lead project planning, programming and delivery activities.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost control and commercial performance.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks and programme challenges.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular client updates.
  • Support project procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Ensure successful commissioning, validation and project handover processes where required.

About You

  • Proven experience as a

Project Manager within the fit-out, refurbishment or specialist construction sectors.

  • Experience delivering laboratory, pharmaceutical, life sciences, cleanroom or highly regulated environment projects a benefit
  • Background working for a recognised fit-out contractor, main contractor or specialist interiors business.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership capabilities.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project budgets and programme delivery.
  • Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on projects within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, laboratory or research sectors
  • Previous experience with pre-construction activities, estimating, cost planning or tender submissions
  • Exposure to MEP-intensive projects and technically complex fit-outs.
  • Experience delivering projects in live operational environments.
  • Relevant project management or construction qualifications (APM, Prince2, HNC/HND, Degree, SMSTS or equivalent).
