We are recruiting a Third in Charge for a busy, well-established nursery in Exeter. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who wants to support the smooth day-to-day running of a nursery while making a real difference in children’s lives.
Third in Charge what you’ll be doing:
- Create an environment that supports the individual needs of all children
- Maintain systems to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of childcare practices
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, parents, and carers
- Build positive and open relationships with your team
- Ensure nursery practices meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Support staff by agreeing and reviewing individual targets
- Take on playroom and additional management responsibilities as required
- Help keep costs in line with agreed budgets.
Requirements:
- Level 3 in Childcare or above (essential)
- Experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role in an early years setting
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Passionate about providing high-quality care and education for young children
