We are currently recruiting for a Saw Operator / FLT 4 Way Reach Operative to join a busy and well-established steel processing environment in Tividale. This is a hands-on role within an industrial setting, combining forklift operation with operating saws to cut steel bar to customer specifications. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with steel and hold a valid 4 Way Reach Forklift licence. This is a busy environment where safety, accuracy and attention to detail are extremely important.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a 4 Way Reach Forklift Truck to move and position steel products safely
- Operating industrial saws to cut steel bar to specified lengths
- Loading and unloading steel materials
- Moving heavy steel products around the warehouse and processing areas
- Preparing steel materials to customer specifications
- Ensuring materials are handled and stored safely
- Carrying out checks on equipment and reporting any issues
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
- Working as part of a team to meet daily production and dispatch requirements
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with steel or similar heavy materials
- Valid 4 Way Reach Forklift licence – essential
- Previous saw operating experience is highly advantageous
- Experience loading and unloading heavy materials
- Comfortable working in a busy industrial environment
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
- Physically capable of working in a heavy industrial environment
