We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join a welcoming and nurturing Infant and Nursery School in DE24 from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed education professional to play a key leadership role in a setting that values creativity, care, and a nature-led approach to early years learning. The school has a strong focus on natural materials and Forest School principles, providing a rich, engaging environment where children can explore, develop, and thrive.
Dedicated Nursery provision with:
- Morning session: 8:30am – 11:30am
- Afternoon session: 12:30pm – 3:30pm
Rooms organised for:
- 2-year-olds
- 3–4-year-olds
Strong emphasis on outdoor learning and child-led exploration.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the full range of responsibilities expected of a Deputy Headteacher
- Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school
- Assist with administrative and organisational duties
- Lead and contribute to Monday staff meetings
- Support teaching and learning across the EYFS and Infant phases
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture
- Help drive continuous improvement in teaching standards and outcomes

- Have secure and up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Have previous experience in a similar leadership role
