About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ESOL Tutor to provide high-quality English language tuition to learners in the Bedford area. Tuition sessions will take place either in the learner's home or within a school setting during school hours. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who can support learners in developing their English language skills, confidence, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and tailored ESOL lessons to learners of varying abilities.
- Assess learners' needs and create individual learning plans.
- Monitor and record learner progress.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with schools, parents/carers, and the tuition provider.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Experience teaching ESOL, EAL, English, or related subjects.
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging one-to-one or small group sessions.
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Access to reliable transport is desirable.
