Care First Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting experienced Housing Officers to work across a number of London Boroughs.

Location: Various London Boroughs

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join established Housing Management teams, delivering high-quality tenancy and estate management services that support residents and create safe, sustainable communities. You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of properties, building positive relationships with tenants, ensuring tenancy compliance, resolving housing issues and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day tenancy and estate management of a designated patch.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, leaseholders and residents.
  • Conduct tenancy sign-ups and ensure new tenants understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities.
  • Manage the rehousing process in partnership with Property Services and Void Teams.
  • Carry out tenancy verification checks and investigate unlawful occupation or tenancy fraud.
  • Conduct regular estate and property inspections to maintain high neighbourhood standards.
  • Manage rent accounts, arrears and tenancy breaches.
  • Investigate and resolve anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases.
  • Attend tenant and resident meetings and encourage community engagement.
  • Allocate vacant properties in accordance with housing policies.
  • Provide housing advice and signpost residents to welfare benefits and support services.
  • Prepare reports, maintain accurate records and manage correspondence.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to deliver effective housing services.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year's experience working as a Housing Officer within a social housing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, estate management, anti-social behaviour procedures, housing policies and best practice.
  • Experience using housing management systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure.
  • Strong report writing and case management skills.
  • Confident working independently while contributing positively to a team.

Desirable

  • CIH Housing Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Local Authority or Housing Association experience.
  • Experience managing complex tenancy cases.
