Main duties of the job

As a Fertility Nurse/Midwife youll provide information and advice on our treatments to patients, as well as any emotional support.

You\'ll co-ordinate treatment cycle plans, coach our patients to self-administer fertility drugs, and care for our patients pre and post theatre as well as in the clinic.

The role is varied and will include:

  • Performing venepuncture, interpreting and giving blood results when necessary (training will be provided for venepuncture and cannulation).
  • Perform basic patient assessments, venepuncture and undertake pre-treatment consultations
  • Assist in theatre procedures, including egg collections, embryo transfers, IUIs and Hy Co Sy Preparation of theatre, ward and maintenance of resuscitation trolley

We are very committed to our nursing/midwifery teams and share best practice across the Care group. We have monthly nurses journal clubs and support training and conferences.

Many of our nurses have extended their roles and are working as Advanced Nurse Practitioners and in time there will be opportunities to learn to perform ultrasound scanning and prescribing initially.

As a Registered Fertility Practitioner at Care Fertility, you will provide advice, information, support and clinical care throughout the patients journey. You will work with the multi-disciplinary team in coordinating treatment cycles and providing our patients with the best possible treatment experience and as a team giving each patient the very best chance of success.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • A qualification in adult nursing (Degree/ Diploma) or Midwifery , as well as a current NMC registration.
  • N/A

Experience

  • Essential to have post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting (if you are newly qualified, please get in touch so that we can understand you experience).
  • Desirable but not essential to have experience of gynae/obstetric, theatre experience, venepuncture and ultra-scanning.
