The Role
As a Fertility Nurse/Midwife you’ll provide information and advice on our treatments to patients, as well as any emotional support. You’ll co-ordinate treatment cycle plans, coach our patients to self-administer fertility drugs, and care for our patients pre and post theatre as well as in the clinic.
The Role Is Varied And Will Include:
- Performing venepuncture, interpreting and giving blood results when necessary (training will be provided for venepuncture and cannulation).
- Perform basic patient assessments, venepuncture and undertake pre-treatment consultations.
- Assist in theatre procedures, including egg collections, embryo transfers, IUI’s and Hy Co Sy.
- Preparation of theatre, ward and maintenance of resuscitation trolley.
We are very committed to supporting our nursing and midwifery teams and actively share best practice across the Care Group. We hold monthly Nurses’ Journal Clubs and provide opportunities for ongoing training and attendance at conferences. Many of our nurses have already expanded their roles, progressing into Advanced Nurse Practitioner positions, and in time there will also be opportunities to develop skills in areas such as ultrasound scanning and prescribing.

You’ll Need The Following Skills/experience:
- A qualification in adult nursing (Degree/ Diploma) or Midwifery, as well as a current NMC registration.
- Essential to have post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting (if you are newly qualified, please get in touch so that we can understand your experience).
- Desirable but not essential to have experience of gynae/obstetric, theatre experience, venepuncture and ultra-scanning.
Location & Hours
This is a 35-hour role, spread over four days per week. You will work on a rota during the clinic's opening hours, including Saturdays. This position is at our Northampton clinic, located at 67 The Avenue, NN1 5BT.
