We have clinical opportunities for you as a Registered Practitioner in Fertility Care, in theatre, ward and clinic. You’ll join a passionate team that strives to provide a world class service to our patients on their journey to having a family. You’ll help to make sure that every one of our patients receives the greatest care and support possible.
As a Fertility Nurse/Midwife you’ll provide information and advice on our treatments to patients, as well as any emotional support. You’ll co-ordinate treatment cycle plans, coach our patients to self-administer fertility drugs, and care for our patients pre and post theatre as well as in the clinic. The role is varied and will include:
- Performing venepuncture, interpreting and giving blood results when necessary (training will be provided for venepuncture and cannulation).
- Perform basic patient assessments, venepuncture and undertake pre-treatment consultations.
- Assist in theatre procedures, including egg collections, embryo transfers, IUI’s and Hy Co Sy.
- Preparation of theatre, ward and maintenance of resuscitation trolley.
We are very committed to our nursing/midwifery teams and share best practice across the Care group. We have monthly nurses journal clubs and support training and conferences. Many of our nurses have extended their roles and are working as Advanced Nurse Practitioners and in time there will be opportunities to learn to perform ultrasound scanning and prescribing initially.

You’ll need the following skills/experience:
- A qualification in adult nursing Degree/ Diploma as well as being a registered NMC nurse or midwife is essential.
- Essential to have post registration experience working within an acute hospital setting.
- Desirable but not essential to have experience of gynae/obstetric, theatre experience, venepuncture and ultra-scanning.
Location/Benefits: This is a full-time role working between either 7:30-17:30 x3 & 07:30-17:00 x1 (Long shifts) OR 8-4 x5, Monday-Friday (with Saturdays on rotation) based at Care Fertility Manchester, 108, 112 Daisy Bank Rd, Manchester M14 5QH.
