To provide support in the home environment, and in the community to a lady in her 60’s who’s blind. This position is extremely flexible and will be suited to those who want to make a positive impact on someone’s life. This role is a lone working position.
Responsibilities
- To assist with gardening
- To read the mail, and occasionally newspapers
- To read cooking instructions
- To assist with guiding when in the community and when taking daily walks (weather permitting)
- To assist with food shopping
- To attend coffee shops, and walking along the sea front
- To support with attending the Dr’s / hospital appointments
- To support with collecting medication from the pharmacy
Personal Qualities and Attributes
- Respectful of confidentiality and privacy
- Responsible, reliable and trustworthy
- Respectful of dignity and independence
- Good communication skills and social skills
- Punctual, and flexible
- Driving Licence essential and use of own vehicle required with business insurance
