We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Cook to work at our residential care home based in Sharrow, S5.

Hours: 21 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 3 x days at 7 hrs (start from 6:30am to 7.30am and finish between 2:00pm and 3:00pm), includes weekends (usually alternate) and bank holiday work
Pay: £13.02 per hour

All new team members are required to attend an induction at our training room in S13 prior to starting work in the care home. These are run every three weeks, starting on a Monday between 9:30am until 4:30pm.

The job role:

• To plan menus considering different dietary needs, both medical and cultural and in consultation with both residents and managers
• To prepare and cook homemade meals using fresh ingredients
• To ensure hygiene standards are maintained in food preparation
• To order, receive and check the quality and quantity of provisions delivered and report shortages and poor quality goods to management
• To participate in staff development, including induction and to attend charity training
• To receive supervision from senior cook
• To check and record fridge and freezer temperatures, clean and defrost fridge and freezer
• To uphold Sheffcare’s values
• To cater for special functions e.g. birthdays, festive season and unit parties
