Overview

Support Worker – Covering Weymouth and Dorchester Supported Living services (Relief)

Location: Orchard Court, Weymouth; Digby Court, Dorchester; Dorchester Road, Dorchester

About the Role

This role will be part of a team supporting adults with a learning disability and/or autism who are living in the community. Our Supported Living services offer accommodation and support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is a zero-hours position with the option to pick up extra shifts when available.

Digby Court and Orchard Court are supported living services based between Weymouth and Dorchester. They provide adults who need support to live in their own homes (fully fitted flats) with assistance in day-to-day living, including Personal Care, food preparation and household chores. Dorchester Road supports four people aged 18-25 with hobbies and interests, employment opportunities, and independent living support.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism in daily activities and independent living
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and community activities
  • Provide supportive, patient, and empathetic care in a 24/7 Supported Living setting

What You’ll Do

  • Work as part of a team and, where needed, independently to meet service user needs
  • Support with hobbies, social activities, and development opportunities
  • Help service users achieve goals related to daily living and independence

About You

  • A compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Full driving license and access to own vehicle for work purposes is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training and ongoing support provided
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a care-focused environment

  • Salary: £12.86 – £13.08 per hour (days)
  • 0-hour contract available
  • £38.20 per sleep-in (Dorchester Road only)
  • Sleep-in nights required (Dorchester Road only)
