Care Dorset UK is seeking a Care Assistant for Ridgeway Plus, a day service in Weymouth. The role focuses on supporting adults with varying needs to enjoy and maintain quality of life. The successful candidate will join an experienced team to deliver activities and stimulating experiences, flexible to support individuals or groups within the service or the wider community.

Salary and Hours

  • Β£12.86-Β£13.08 per hour
  • Shifts – Monday to Friday, 09:00–16:00
  • Contract options: 26- and 32.5-hour contracts available
  • Refer a friend scheme up to Β£300

About The Role

Care Dorset is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to provide support for adults with Ridgeway Plus, a day service in Weymouth. You will be part of an experienced team responsible for delivering activities and stimulating experiences for people with a range of additional needs. A flexible and energetic approach is essential as you may support individuals or groups within the service or in the wider community.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Assist the relevant client group in practical tasks, including shopping and community activities, to promote independence.
  • Undertake personal care duties as required (toileting, washing, feeding, manual handling including hoisting and transfer).
  • Maintain dignity, privacy and respect in all care interactions.
  • Maintain essential records with brief written entries on individual client records.
  • Undertake domestic tasks (cleaning and laundry).
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements for manual handling, transfer hoists, and infection control.
  • Participate in organized activities to meet client needs (excursions, basic food preparation, domestic tasks).
  • Act as a keyworker when required.
  • Work within the Gold Standards Framework.
  • Any other duties as required related to the team’s function.

About You

Suitable candidates will have a genuine interest in the needs and wishes of people, support them to make and communicate their choices, and promote independence. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are important.
