Crosslaw House Care Home is a welcoming and well-established care home providing Nursing and Dementia care for up to 45 residents. Our warm and friendly team is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and well cared for.

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the daily lives of our residents, ensuring they enjoy high-quality, nutritious, and comforting meals every day.

What We Offer

Your Role

As Cook, you will do more than just prepare meals — you will create dishes that nourish, comfort, and bring joy to those in our care. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver a varied, balanced menu that supports the health and wellbeing of every resident. You will take ownership of the kitchen when needed, ensuring meals are prepared to a high standard and that food hygiene and safety protocols are consistently maintained. You will also be responsible for managing kitchen operations, including monitoring stock, maintaining food safety records, and supporting kitchen cleanliness. Whether you are cooking for special dietary requirements or simply plating up a resident’s favourite dish, your role will make a meaningful difference each day.

What We Are Looking For

  • City & Guilds 706 – 1 & 2 or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • A strong team player who enjoys working in a collaborative kitchen environment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to understand and meet individual dietary needs
  • Experience working in a care home environment is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative when leading kitchen duties
