Senior Care Assistant Care and Support - Highwood Care Home Contract: Full Time Salary: £13.00 Per Hour Shift Type: Days & Nights Available Contracted hours: Full Time Highwood Care Home, a brand-new, purpose-built luxury facility in the picturesque port town of Bideford, provides Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care for up to 67 residents. Here, you'll be part of a supportive team delivering outstanding care in a warm, welcoming environment. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead and support the care team, ensuring every resident receives the highest standard of personalised care.
You will coordinate shifts, guide your colleagues, and maintain a positive and compassionate atmosphere throughout the home. What We Offer: £13.00 per hour Full Time Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract) What You Will Do: In this role, you will lead and coordinate the care team to ensure residents receive excellent care tailored to their individual needs. You will assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting, and mobility while prioritising dignity and independence.
You will oversee medication management, ensuring accurate administration and documentation. You will communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues, fostering a positive team ethos. You will welcome visitors, provide guidance to prospective residents and families, respond promptly to emergencies, maintain accurate care documentation, and actively engage in your own professional development.
What We're Looking For: You will hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care and ideally be working towards Level 3, or already hold Level 3. Practical medication administration competencies are required. Leadership skills are essential to motivate and support your team while maintaining a positive and caring environment.
