Vane Hill Care Home is a specialist service in Torquay, set across two Victorian houses overlooking Torbay. The home provides structured, enablement focused support for adults living with mental health conditions, including Korsakoff’s syndrome and Alcohol-Related Brain Damage, promoting independence, stability and wellbeing.

Role Overview

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will provide high quality, person centred support within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs throughout the night. Working as part of the night team, you will help maintain a calm, safe and supportive environment while responding to residents’ individual needs with professionalism, compassion and reassurance. This is a hands on role where you will support residents with night time routines, wellbeing checks and personal care where required, ensuring comfort and dignity are maintained at all times. You will complete regular night comfort checks, carry out the medication round, maintain accurate records and report any concerns, accidents or incidents appropriately, including escalating to the on call team where required. You will also contribute towards maintaining a clean, safe and well organised environment by completing scheduled night cleaning tasks and supporting the smooth running of the service overnight. Working closely with colleagues, you will contribute towards a consistent, professional and person centred approach to care throughout the night shift.
