Responsibilities
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play an important leadership role within the home, supporting the care team while ensuring residents receive high quality, person centred care. You will coordinate shifts, guide colleagues, and lead by example to maintain a safe, calm and therapeutic environment. You will support residents with complex needs including advanced dementia, distressed behaviours and high dependency care. This includes assisting with personal care, mobility, one to one support and promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing at all times. Working closely with nurses and the wider care team, you will ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed, documentation is completed accurately, and residents' physical and emotional needs are consistently met. You will also support colleagues during challenging situations, helping maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential
- Medication administration training with competency
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support and guide staff on shift
- Experience supporting residents with dementia, complex needs and distressed behaviours
- Reliable, compassionate and confident providing one to one care when required
Job Details
- Salary: £13.21 Per Hour
- Contract: Full Time and Part Time
- Shift Type: Days & Nights available
- Day shifts: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (30 minute unpaid break and two 15 minute paid breaks)
- Night shifts: 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM (1 hour paid break)
- Alternate weekends required
- Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract
