Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

The Role

As a Cook, you will play an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing by preparing nutritious, balanced and enjoyable meals each day. Food plays an important part in daily life within the home, providing comfort, familiarity and an opportunity for residents to enjoy mealtimes together. Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will prepare and serve a range of meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences. You will support the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while ensuring high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained at all times. You will also help monitor stock, assist with ordering supplies, ensure food is stored correctly and maintain accurate records including temperature checks and food safety documentation.

What We Are Looking For

  • City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent culinary qualification, or working towards
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience preparing meals in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to work independently while supporting the wider kitchen team
  • Understanding of dietary requirements and food safety standards
