Nestled in the heart of Ashgill, Ashlea Court Care Home provides high-quality Nursing, Residential, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 86 residents.
We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will lead by example, support your colleagues, and ensure residents receive compassionate, person-centred care. Your leadership and professionalism will help us create a warm, safe, and supportive environment where both residents and staff can flourish.

What You Will DoAs a Senior Care Assistant, you will coordinate and oversee shifts, ensuring the smooth running of the home and the highest standards of care. You will support residents with personal care, mobility, and daily living while always promoting dignity and independence. Medication administration and accurate record-keeping will be part of your daily responsibilities, as well as maintaining up-to-date care plans and risk assessments.
You will play a key role in fostering teamwork, offering guidance and support to colleagues, and encouraging a positive, respectful atmosphere. Building strong relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals will also be central to your role. From welcoming visitors to responding to emergencies with confidence, you will be a reassuring presence and a role model for the care team.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is essential
- Ideally SVQ Level 3 (or working towards it)
- Practical Medication Administration training and competencies
- Previous experience in a care setting, with proven leadership skills
- A kind, compassionate, and positive approach to care, with the ability to motivate and support a team
