Located in the picturesque seaside town of Largs, our brand-new, purpose-built home offers luxury living with exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for 80 residents. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Night Registered Nurse to join our brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home in the picturesque seaside town of Largs. This state-of-the-art facility, opening soon, will provide exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for up to 80 residents.
As a vital part of our night team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of clinical care during overnight hours. Supported by strong clinical leadership, including our Home Manager who holds the prestigious Queen’s Nurse distinction, you will work autonomously while maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive environment for residents and staff alike.
What We Offer
- £21.84 per hour
- Contracted to part time hours – 22.5 hours
- Shift Times: 7:45 PM – 8:00 AM
- Additional benefits: Paid NMC fees, pension, paid PVG, free onsite parking, uniform provided, and 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)

What You Will Do
- Deliver safe, high-quality care throughout the night to residents with complex and changing needs
- Ensure a thorough and professional handover at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation using electronic care planning and EMAR systems
- Respond effectively to medical concerns or emergencies, making sound clinical decisions independently
- Support your night team, ensuring clear roles and providing guidance as required
- Conduct regular checks on residents, addressing any changes or issues promptly
- Administer medications in line with protocols and EMAR best practices
- Build strong relationships with residents and offer reassurance during the quieter hours
- Promote restful environments while ensuring resident dignity, privacy, and safety
- Monitor nutrition, hydration, and comfort overnight
- Actively contribute to reflective practice and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Registered General or Mental Health Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN
- Ideally 2 years’ experience in a care home setting
- Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Confidence working independently during night shifts
- Familiarity with electronic care planning and EMAR systems is desirable
- A person-centred approach with compassion and empathy
