Role Overview

Joining a brand new care home from the very beginning offers a genuinely exciting opportunity to be part of establishing the kitchen environment, team culture and dining experience as the service develops. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help create a welcoming and well organised kitchen where residents can enjoy high quality meals every day. As Second Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing. You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day. Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service while helping maintain a positive and professional kitchen environment throughout the home.

What We Are Looking For

  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive and reliable approach
