Glencorse Care Home, located in the heart of the new Greenlaw Mains community in Penicuik, is a purpose-built, luxury care home opening soon. It will provide high-quality Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Respite care for up to 54 residents in beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms.
We’re looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team, supporting the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.
What We Offer
- £12.21 per hour

- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
What You Will Do
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help ensure the smooth running of the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, receiving and storing deliveries, and maintaining cleanliness throughout. You’ll support your team in delivering excellent meals, follow food safety procedures, and help create a safe, professional, and positive kitchen environment. Your role will contribute directly to residents’ dining experience and overall wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For
- A team player with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is advantageous but not essential
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
