Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team. You will play a key role in ensuring our home is always clean, safe, and welcoming, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation for residents, visitors, and staff. You will oversee and support the daily housekeeping operations within the home, ensuring a clean, hygienic, and comfortable environment for all residents. This includes supervising the housekeeping and laundry team, assigning daily tasks, monitoring quality, and maintaining an organised and efficient service. You will be responsible for stock control, ordering supplies, and ensuring all cleaning materials are used safely and effectively in line with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations. You will also inspect rooms and communal areas, manage budgets responsibly, and handle any maintenance or cleaning-related concerns promptly. Your leadership and attention to detail will directly enhance the comfort and wellbeing of everyone living and working at Cedar Lodge.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the housekeeping and laundry team, assign daily tasks, monitor quality, and maintain an organised and efficient service.
  • Manage stock control and ordering of supplies; ensure cleaning materials are used safely and effectively in line with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Inspect rooms and communal areas; address maintenance or cleaning-related concerns promptly.
  • Support budget management and ensure cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory or senior domestic role, ideally within a care home, hospitality, or healthcare environment.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • A proactive and flexible approach with good communication and time-management skills.
