Struan Lodge Care Home

Contract: Full Time

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Shift Type: Days

Contracted hours: 40

Lead with Heart in the Heart of Edinburgh

We’re looking for a rare kind of leader, someone who believes that great care starts with great people. Someone who leads by example, listens before they speak, and knows that person-centred care isn’t just a philosophy, it’s a daily commitment to putting people first.

At Struan Lodge Care Home, we need a Home Manager who can bring out the best in a loyal and capable team, guide a small and well-loved service with confidence, and build a culture rooted in kindness, respect, and accountability. You’ll be someone who sets high standards and supports others to reach them. You’ll understand the responsibility that comes with this role, but also the joy and deep sense of purpose it brings.

Whether you’re a nurse-qualified leader stepping into your first management role, or an experienced Home Manager looking for a home where your values truly align, this is your chance to shape something special.

Role details:

  • Location: Struan Lodge Care Home, 54 Balgreen Avenue, Edinburgh, EH12 5SU
  • Salary: Up to £55,000 Depending on experience.
  • Bonus: up to 40% annual bonus.

Qualifications: Nurse-qualified leader preferred.

Why this role is available: This opportunity has arisen as our current Home Manager has progressed to lead another service within the Care Concern Group. We’re proud to promote from within and support our leaders to grow their careers across our family of homes, this transition is a great example of that commitment in action.

About You: You’ll be stepping into a home where the foundations are already strong, a loyal and capable team, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a shared sense of pride in the care delivered every day. As Home Manager, your role is to nurture that culture, bring fresh energy, and lead by example.

You’ll need more than clinical knowledge or operational experience (though both are essential). You’ll need emotional intelligence, the ability to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and make decisions with both head and heart. Whether you’re resolving a challenge with calm professionalism or celebrating a small win with your team, you’ll lead in a way that earns trust and inspires confidence.

You’ll bring a hands-on approach to leadership, visible, approachable, and fully engaged with residents, families, and staff. You’ll know how to create structure without stifling innovation, and how to encourage accountability while maintaining compassion.

To thrive in this role, you’ll have:

  • A background in nursing or clinical care (ideal but not essential)
  • Previous experience in a leadership or deputy role within a care home setting
  • A strong grasp of regulatory compliance and quality frameworks
  • The ability to manage budgets, resources, and rotas effectively
  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding care and supporting your team to do the same

Above all, you’ll believe in creating a place where people feel seen, safe, and supported for both the residents who live here, and the colleagues who work alongside you.
