Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton which is located on the world‑famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents.
Role Overview
As Head of Care, you will play a key role in leading and developing your team while ensuring high quality, person centred care is delivered consistently across your team. This role carries responsibility for the day to day operational management of the unit, maintaining standards and supporting a safe, well organised and positive environment.
You will oversee the delivery of care, ensuring it is aligned to individual care plans, best practice and regulatory requirements. This includes supporting the team, monitoring residents’ wellbeing, overseeing medication processes and responding effectively to any changes in condition, ensuring care remains safe and responsive.
You will also take responsibility for maintaining accurate documentation, including care plans, risk assessments and daily records. Working closely with the Home Manager, colleagues, families and healthcare professionals, you will support clear communication, accountability and continuous improvement across the service.
This position consists of working alternate weekends and will include some Supernumerary hours.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- Medication administration training with competency
- Previous experience leading or managing a care team
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- A proactive and accountable approach to care delivery
- A caring, compassionate and professional attitude
