Home Manager - Haddington Home Manager Opportunity | Haddington Care Home, East Lothian 60,000 - 65,000 per annum Up to 40% Annual Bonus Private Medical Insurance About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced, nurse-qualified and values-led Home Manager to lead Haddington Care Home in East Lothian. Haddington is a purpose-built, premium 68-bed home providing residential, nursing, dementia, respite and palliative care. Set on the banks of the River Tyne, the home combines beautiful en-suite accommodation and high-quality facilities with the warm, family-like atmosphere residents and relatives value. This is an opportunity for an established care-home leader who is motivated by protecting success and continuing to move an excellent service forward. The previous leadership team has transformed Haddington's regulatory, commercial and workforce performance. The home is now ahead of its occupancy targets, uses minimal agency, has no nurse vacancies and benefits from a stable, dedicated team and a strong clinical leadership structure. Contract 60,000 - 65,000 per annum, depending on experience Opportunity to earn up to 40% of salary through annual bonus Private Medical Insurance Pension 5.6 weeks' annual leave Why This Role Matters There is a great deal at Haddington to be proud of and build upon. The home currently supports 65 residents, three ahead of its Q3 target, including 48 privately funded residents - six ahead of target. Agency use is minimal, the nursing team is fully recruited, and the home has a strong 9.6/10 review score on carehome.co.uk. Haddington's improvement has been hard won. The home previously faced reputational challenges, but strong leadership has changed its trajectory and created a service that is performing well commercially, regulatorily and culturally. The next Home Manager will inherit a stable and values-led workforce, an experienced clinical team and positive relationships with residents, relatives, the Care Inspectorate and East Lothian Council. The priority is not wholesale change. It is to understand the service, maintain its current momentum and ensure that the standards now being achieved become firmly embedded for the long term. It is a leadership role for someone who recognises the responsibility that comes with inheriting a successful home and has the judgement, energy and commercial understanding to take it into its next chapter. What You'll Be Doing You will take full leadership responsibility for Haddington, remaining highly visible to residents, relatives and colleagues while setting clear expectations and protecting the positive culture already established. Quality and clinical governance will be central to your role, alongside developing and holding your leadership team accountable, retaining a stable permanent workforce, maintaining minimal agency use, managing budgets carefully, sustaining occupancy and ensuring residents continue to receive exceptional, person-centred care. You'll also maintain trusted relationships with the Care Inspectorate, East Lothian Council, families, healthcare professionals and the wider community, while working closely with regional and central support teams across Care Concern Group. What You'll Bring You will be a Registered Nurse with active RGN registration and experience of leading within a care-home environment. Experience of managing a smaller service will be considered where you can demonstrate the leadership capability and operational judgement to step into a 68-bed home. An SVQ Level 4 qualification is desirable, although we will support the right candidate who is willing to achieve this within the required timescale. You'll have a strong understanding of Care Inspectorate regulations, Health and Social Care Standards and the clinical governance required to lead a high-quality nursing service. You'll combine strong people leadership with commercial awareness, understanding how occupancy, private funding, staffing, agency use, budgets and average weekly fees contribute to a sustainable and successful home. Above all, you'll be a visible, credible and values-driven leader who can engage a settled team, maintain high expectations and continue the positive journey Haddington is on. Current Performance Snapshot 68 beds w/ 65 residents (48 private residents) | Care Inspectorate: Good, with grades of 4 and 5 | carehome.co.uk: 9.6/10 | Minimal agency | No nurse vacancies Haddington is commercially strong, regulatorily sound and supported by a stable workforce and experienced clinical team.
