Role Overview
As a Peripatetic Chef, you will support a number of care homes across the region, providing cover for annual leave and sickness while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and kitchen organisation. Working across multiple services, you will prepare and deliver nutritious, well‑balanced meals tailored to residents’ needs and preferences. You will adapt to different kitchens and teams, ensuring consistency and maintaining a reliable standard of service. Your role will include supporting menu planning, stock control, ordering and ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety standards. You will also provide guidance and support to kitchen teams, helping to maintain good practice and a consistent approach. This role requires flexibility, strong organisation and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards across different environments.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen processes
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent (or working towards)
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- A flexible and reliable approach
- Full driving licence is essential
