We're looking for a Human Resources Advisor to join our HR team and play a pivotal role in driving best practice across employee relations, retention, and engagement. Why this role matters
Reporting to one of our HR Business Partners in Scotland, you'll be the go-to advisor for employee relations across the Edinburgh / East Lothian / Fife Region. You'll guide leaders through complex cases, embed our values, and ensure our teams feel supported, respected, and heard. You'll also help deliver key HR projects, from change programmes to engagement initiatives, shaping how we support both our residents and our people.
What you'll be doing
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, and absence management.
- Partner with Home Managers across multiple sites, providing coaching and expert advisory support on HR/ER issues, including complex casework and TUPE.
- Build positive, trusted relationships with key stakeholders, championing a fair and people-focused culture.
- Support HR drop-in clinics, listening sessions, and colleague forums to strengthen engagement.
- Maintain accurate HR administration including ER trackers, NMC pin checks, consultation timelines, and supporting document packs.
- Provide insight and reporting to HR Business Partners and Regional Directors to help shape people strategies and improve outcomes.
- Contribute to wider HR projects and national initiatives including engagement surveys, policy rollouts, and organisational change programmes.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases in a fast-paced environment (care, healthcare, or similar preferred).
- Experience working across multiple sites.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification (minimum).
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally across the Midlands.
- Understanding of the care sector or similar regulated environments.
Desirable
- Experience supporting organisational change and consultation processes.
- Experience drafting or reviewing HR policies.
