Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of the lovely seaside town of Seaton, located on the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Thornfield Care Home is registered for 52 residents. Due to the success and growth of Thornfield, we are excited to be looking for the next Care Lead to join our dedicated team.

As a Care Lead, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our care home. You’ll lead by example on the floor, guiding and supporting our care team to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care. Working closely with the management team, you’ll help plan and allocate workloads, oversee care delivery, and ensure residents receive safe, dignified, and individualised support at all times. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends as part of this role.
Care Lead Contract
- £14.60 - £15.79 per hour
- Contracted to 48 hours per week
- Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
Role Overview
As Care Lead, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership and delivery of care within the home, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred support at all times. Working alongside the nursing and management team, you will help maintain standards, support compliance and ensure best practice is consistently followed. You will lead shifts, supervise and support care staff, and take responsibility for the coordination of care delivery. This includes overseeing care planning, medication administration, documentation and risk management, ensuring all practices align with regulatory requirements and organisational standards. You will act as a role model within the team, promoting positive working practices, supporting staff development and ensuring a culture of respect, dignity and accountability. You will also contribute to audits, reviews and continuous improvement, helping to maintain a well-run and high-performing service.
What We Are Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
- Medication administration training with competency
