Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

Contract: £15.08 per hour

Contracted to 40 hours per week

Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided

5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Maintenance Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the upkeep, safety and presentation of the home, ensuring all building systems, equipment and environments are maintained to a high standard. This is a key leadership role where your organisation, technical knowledge and proactive approach will directly impact safety, compliance and daily experience.

You will oversee all maintenance activities across the building and grounds, including planned maintenance, reactive repairs and improvement projects. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with health and safety and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will manage maintenance priorities, coordinate contractors where required and ensure a well organised, safe and fully functional environment at all times.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role
  • Experience managing maintenance operations or projects
  • Good knowledge of general building, electrical and repair work
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage workload, priorities and external contractors
  • A proactive and reliable approach
